Rod Dungate is a playwright, poet, reviewer and theatre director, based in Birmingham, UK.

Rod Dungate (Born 1946) is a British playwright, poet, reviewer, and theatre director.  Also, as a teacher at all levels, most recently as an academic at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire working with acting and design students.

Rod is the Artistic Director of DDArts.

His working life has moved between teaching, retail, computer programming, politics and freelance theatre work.  In these roles his work has always been underpinned by a great love of and involvement with drama and theatre in their widest manifestations.

He believes that all art, which incorporates high art and popular culture, is political.  In his own words: ‘Art is the mirror, the critic, the watchdog of Society.’
